Texas Hill Country Engagement | Pedernales Falls State Park near Austin, Texas

Katelyn & Allen were married this past fall at the stunning D’vine Grace Vineyard so it’s about time I start sharing some photos of this adorable couple! Today I am starting with their Stunning Texas Hill Country Engagement Session at Pedernales Falls State Park! During their wedding consult, Katelyn mentioned wanting an engagement location near Austin, Texas that really showed off  the beauty of The Texas Country. Hearing this, I knew that Pedernales Falls State Park would fit her vision perfectly!

As a Texas Hill Country Engagement Photographer, Pedernales Falls State Park  is one of my go-to outdoor, engagement locations. The scenery around the falls is one-of-a-kind and the way the rocks light up at sunset truly makes it feel magical! Plus it’s so close to Austin which makes it super convenient.

Tips to feel confident during your Texas Hill Country Engagement Session

Katelynalso mentioned that she felt a bit awkward in front of the camera. As a Texas Hill Country Engagement Photographer, I hear this ALL THE TIME! Let’s face it, most of us feel this way! I don’t photograph supermodels very often or meet couples who spend a ton of time together in front of the camera. This is a totally normal feeling. You just need a bit of guidance, I promise!

The most important thing to help you feel confident during your Hill Country Engagement Session is to trust yourself! Start with hiring an engagement and wedding photographer that you feel confident in and trust for guidance.  Wear something that makes you feel really good! Follow some silly prompts that will help make you laugh. If you embrace the process and trust yourself throughout our time together,  you will shine! You will begin to feel much more confident in front of the camera and will be a pro by wedding day. And don’t worry, I’ll hype you up A LOT  and share some sneak peeks with you from the back of my camera at no additional charge 🙂

Bold Colors are my jam!

When we arrived at the Pedernales Falls, we took advantage of all the greenery and did some light rock climbing as you will see below! We waited until sunset to head up to the top of the Falls and Katelyn changed into a pretty, flowy red dress! I love ending your engagement session with a more formal look at sunset. Katelyn’s dress added so much color and movement to the photos as it blew in the wind.  Never be afraid of bolder colors because that’s my jam! No dull colors here!
