When Megan and Graham first booked me, I was ecstatic to be photographing a wedding again at one of my favorite wedding venues in Dallas Ft. Worth, The White Sparrow Barn. Not only is the inside of the venue a stunning, white barn but the property in front with the green house and lavender is one of my favorite locations for wedding day portraits.

Like a typical day in May in Texas, the weather ended up being completely unpredictable. As I drove to the wedding venue, the hail poured down as I drove 30 mph with my hazards on passing tons of people pulled over on the side of the road. Let’s just say the weather was pretty much a worse case scenario for a bride on her wedding. Luckily Megan and Graham had already agreed a couple days prior to move the ceremony inside which still provided them with a stunning white barn backdrop.

Their May 18th wedding day was a perfect example of why it is so important when picking a venue to really consider what their inside ceremony option is and to make sure you are completely happy with that location if the weather doesn’t cooperate on your wedding day. It can be a huge stress relief brides as the wedding day approaches and the weather becomes a bit questionable. Luckily after the ceremony, the rain stopped  and we were able to utilize the front of the barn and the greenhouse for all wedding party portraits while the staff turned the ceremony area into the reception space.

Once these two had their grand entrance into their wedding reception, they were ready to get the party started! Between the dancing all night, Steel City Pops and donut wall, Megan thought of all the extra little details to make their wedding day extra special. Congratulations to you both! I wish you best!
