Hello!!
Where do I even begin with Kate & Nick?! These two found me just one month before their wedding day! It’s so crazy when I think about this because after being alongside them throughout their day it feels like I have known them so much longer!
Their original plan was to get married in a glass chapel off the coast of California…cue the sighing… ahhhhhhhh, but then Covid-19 hit and like so many other couples they were left to navigate planning their wedding through these challenging times. So these two, along with the help of their families, began planning a local wedding in Dallas Ft. Worth just ONE MONTH before their wedding date and as you will see from the photos, they totally killed it!!
Working with these two was seriously a dream! I met them at their rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding and they were just radiating with excitement for the wedding day to come. After so many challenges with planning, they were excited just to simply be married! Nick even shared with me how much he loves photos and these two were just absolutely adorable together! They were total dream clients!
On the day of the wedding, I met Kate at The Marriott Legacy in Plano, Texas to photograph her bridal details and getting ready moments with her mom and bridesmaids. Kate is a total coffee addict so we made sure to include some of her bridesmaids gifts which were personalized Starbucks Coffee cups! After she was in her wedding dress, we headed to Prestonwood Chapel for the ceremony.
Not only did Kate make Nick cry when she walked down the aisle, it is pretty evident from the photos that two of the groomsmen teared up as well! I can’t say I have seen that ever before. These two shared so much laughter during their ceremony and I just loved their excitement after they were pronounced husband and wife!!
Their reception was held at III Forks in Dallas. I loved the elegant, garden vibe they were going for with all the flowers, greenery and brick. Kate was also super excited for her balloon arch above the entryway! One of my favorite moments from their reception was definitely when they tried to interlock arms and drink champagne. They didn’t realize they were still suppose to drink from their own glass, so they attempted to pour it in each others’ mouths which you can imagine was quite difficult. Their guests laughed hysterically and Kate explained that she had never been married before so how would she know!? She definitely had a point there. It was adorable and made for some really fun photos!
After their reception, we headed to Arbor Hills for some additional couple portraits! I’ve done this quite a bit with daytime weddings when there isn’t much time between the ceremony and reception and it worked out great! We walked through the front of the the nature preserve just chatting about the day and I am so happy with how the portraits turned out.
Congratulations to The Skeffingtons!!! Thank you for trusting me with your wedding photography. I am so happy to have met you both!! Cheers on your new adventure together!!
